How many slices are in each pack?
We offer two pack sizes — 20 slices and 100 slices. The 20-slice pack is ideal for small-batch soap and bath bomb makers, gifting, and trying botanicals for the first time. The 100-slice pack is designed for regular production makers, market stall sellers, and anyone who uses dried botanicals consistently and wants the best value per slice.
Will dried lemon slices stay on my soap during curing and sale?
Dried lemon slices placed on cold process soap will adhere as the soap surface firms during the saponification and curing process. For best results, place immediately after pouring while the surface is still soft, and press very gently. During the 4–6 week cure period, the slice will anchor to the surface. For retail display, a light spritz of isopropyl alcohol or a thin coating of beeswax-based spray helps secure the slice and improve moisture resistance. Some darkening or colour change in the slice during long-term display is normal and natural.
Can I embed dried lemon slices inside clear soap?
Yes — in melt and pour soap, embedding is effective. Pour a thin base layer, allow to cool and set, place the slice flat on the surface, then pour warm (not hot) base over the top to cover and embed. Keep the pour temperature below approximately 60°C to avoid melting the already-set base layer. The embedded slice will be visible through clear or lightly coloured M&P bases for a stunning visual effect.
Are these safe to use on bath bombs?
Yes — place a dried lemon slice on the curved top surface of a bath bomb as you press the two halves together. The mould pressure holds it in place while the bath bomb sets. Once dissolved in the bath, the slice will float free or break apart naturally. The lemon slice adds visual appeal when the bomb is unwrapped and creates a beautiful presentation in the bath water.
How should I store unused slices?
In a sealed airtight container in a cool, dry place. Add a silica gel packet to absorb any moisture, particularly in humid environments. Properly stored slices last 12–18 months. Never store in the refrigerator — condensation from cold storage can damage the slices.
Can dried lemon slices be used on candles?
For display candles only — press gently onto the warm outer surface of a poured candle before it fully sets. Do not use on candles intended to be burned. Dried botanicals on burning candle surfaces are a fire safety hazard. If selling candles with botanical decoration, always include a label instruction to remove decorations before lighting.
Are they food grade?
Yes.
