Liquid Castile Soap Base

Formulate your own liquid hand soaps, body washes and shampoos with our Liquid Castile Soap Base — a traditional Olive Oil Castile Soap made the old-fashioned way, from just purified water and saponified olive oil (INCI: Potassium Olivate).

Made in Australia, this base arrives as a rich, semi-opaque gel in a yellow-to-amber colour, with a naturally characteristic soap odour. With only two ingredients on the label, it's a clean, minimal-ingredient starting point for formulators who want to avoid synthetic detergents and sulfates — simply dilute with water to your preferred concentration and customise with your own fragrance, colour, thickener and actives.

Please note: this is a concentrated soap base for formulators, not a ready-to-use finished product. As supplied it is alkaline (pH approx. 10.2–10.5)

Questions

What is Liquid Castile Soap Base made from?

Just two ingredients: purified water and saponified olive oil (INCI: Potassium Olivate).

Is this soap ready to use straight from the bottle?

No. It's a concentrated base for soap and cosmetic formulators. Dilute it with water and add your own fragrance, colour and thickeners before it's used as a finished wash-off product.

Is it safe to handle?

As supplied, it's alkaline and classified as corrosive to skin and eyes, so gloves and eye protection are recommended when handling the concentrate. Always dilute before use on skin, and read the SDS for full handling guidance.

What can I make with it?

Liquid hand soap, body wash, shampoo and other wash-off personal care formulations.

Where is it made?

Made in Australia.

How should I store it?

In its original, tightly closed container, out of the reach of children, away from heat, direct sunlight and incompatible materials.

Does it come with a Certificate of Analysis?

Yes — every batch is quality-control tested for appearance, viscosity, pH and stability, with a Certificate of Analysis available.
