FAQs

Questions

What is Kunzea Essential Oil made from?
100% pure Kunzea ambigua essential oil, steam distilled from the flowers, leaves and twigs, with no additives or dilution.

What does Kunzea Essential Oil smell like?
A fresh, sharp, somewhat cineolic and woody aroma with sweet-spicy notes. It's classed as a top to middle note.

Is this oil ready to use, or does it need to be diluted?
It's supplied undiluted as a concentrated aromatic ingredient. It must be diluted in a suitable carrier oil or base before any skin contact, and always patch tested first — it carries a Category 1 skin sensitiser classification in concentrate form.

Can I use it in soap and candle making?
Yes — it's suitable for formulating into soap, candles and melts. Always test a small batch for scent performance and, for candles, burn performance, and check the guidelines for your finished product type.

Is it suitable for cosmetics and body care?
It's supplied for use in cosmetics and personal care formulations according to legal and IFRA guidelines. Keep usage conservative in leave-on products and patch test your finished formulation.

Is it water soluble?
No. It's insoluble in water and soluble in alcohols and fixed oils. For water-based products, pre-blend with a suitable solubiliser.

How should I store it?
Keep the bottle tightly closed in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and heat, and out of reach of children. If stored for more than 36 months, check the quality before using it.
