I have been now buying my Olive Oil from Soap Maid for the last 6 months. A great oil that is suitable for my soap making business. Price is excellent and the customer service is perfect. My orders always are received very fast. (this last time I received it the next day in South Australia)

I’m 71, and I’ve been making my own soap, cleaning and personal products for over 30 years. I struggled with the soap maid site and was unable to pay, Steff walked me through their site and my OWN phone problem, it took 3 emails and lots of patience on her side, the issue was mine! When I picked up my order I was helped to load the car, and check my order by such a lovely man, he chatted with me, again showing patience and respect.
As for the products, I’ve been around the block many times, with big Australian soap ingredient suppliers I’ve been disappointed, angry, and had to waste time with returns, but not now! The products are excellent and match site descriptions, the customer service is old school and so refreshing. I don’t do recommendations normally but Soap Maid are outstanding…….

This oil is clear and good value.. I have made 4 loaves with it and it behaved similarly to other farmers oils I have used.
If you haven't used farmers oil before, soap cool, less of a water discount and stir more than blender. I love using aussie oil

This olive oil makes my soap accelerate like crazy. It definitely has something else in it. I suspect that being second pressed, means pomace olive oil, which is extracted using solvents. If so, it should be labeled as pomace.
"Our olive oil is pure olive oil" -- my soap says it isn't.

We want to assure you that we do not purchase or sell pomace olive oil in our business. The olive oil we provide is 100% pure virgin, and not extracted using solvents. Virgin olive oil will vary from batch to batch due to a variation of factors and will work differently compared to extra virgin olive oil, which some soapmakers may be used to. Here is a little bit of information about virgin olive oil.
1. Olive Variety:
Different varieties of olives naturally produce oils with varying viscosities. For example, some olives produce thicker, more viscous oil, while others create lighter, thinner oils. If a producer sources olives from different varieties across batches, the consistency can change.
2. Harvest Time:
The ripeness of olives at the time of harvest greatly affects the oil's consistency. Early-harvest olives (when they are greener) tend to produce thicker, more robust oils with higher polyphenol content, while later-harvest olives (when they are more mature) yield a thinner, milder oil. Depending on the season and timing of harvest, this can cause variations in texture.
3. Climate and Growing Conditions:
Weather conditions during the growing season influence olive oil quality. Factors like temperature, rainfall, and soil composition impact the olives, which in turn affects the oil’s consistency. For example, a drier season may yield a thicker, more concentrated oil, while a wetter season could result in a thinner consistency.
4. Processing Methods:
Even though virgin olive oil is minimally processed, slight variations in the pressing technique or storage conditions at the mill can cause differences in consistency. For example, temperature fluctuations during pressing can alter the viscosity of the final product.
5. Natural Sediment Content:
Some batches of virgin olive oil might have more natural sediment or pulp from the olives left in the oil, which can affect the thickness. This is particularly true for less filtered or minimally refined oils. The presence or absence of sediment from batch to batch can impact how the oil feels and flows.
Using virgin olive oil in soapmaking can lead to variations in the consistency of the soap due to several factors that are inherent to the oil itself. Virgin olive oil is less refined and more natural than refined oils, so its characteristics can fluctuate between batches, impacting the soap's texture and performance.
