Is this 100% beef tallow?
Yes. It is 100% pure rendered Australian pasture fed beef fat made from suet and kidney fat, with no additives.

What is the difference between suet and tallow?
Suet is the raw hard fat found around the kidneys and loins of beef cattle. Tallow is suet that has been rendered (melted and filtered) into a clean, shelf-stable fat. This product is the rendered tallow.

What is beef tallow used for in soap making?
Tallow creates a hard, long-lasting bar with a creamy, stable lather. It is traditionally used at 20–60% of the oil phase.

Does it smell?
Good quality rendered tallow has a very mild, characteristic scent that is typically unnoticeable in finished soap, especially when fragranced or scented with essential oils.

Can I use it in skincare and balms?
Yes. Tallow is commonly used in solid lotion bars, balms and body butters. Always patch test your finished product.

Is it suitable for vegans?
No. This is an animal-derived product made from beef fat.

How should I store it?
Keep it tightly sealed in a cool, dark place away from heat and sunlight to help prevent rancidity.
